They were sold a miracle cure for their mental instability and then they realized it did not make them better, but only worse. When they try to speak up they are silenced and canceled. These poor youth, and their parents, were given false hope by politically motivated and greedy so called "professionals." They are then forced to deal with the reality that they have permanently and irreversibly screwed up their lives and their bodies being sold a snake oil cure that promised miracles. That realization ends up being the straw that breaks the camel's back for many.
