There are more than a few beekeepers who don’t wear the suit and hood when they open their hives for inspection. The bees are an almost perfect reflection of one’s energy. Don’t they ever get stung? Yes, multiple times. They’re used to it and they say it keeps arthritis away.
On the other hand, almost all beekeepers “gown up” when working the hives, especially when the colony is agitated. Sometimes, a colony will “go rogue” and become dangerous. The colony is killed with hot soapy water poured over the frames.
