So I have no knowledge about the IDF stuff (and yeah prob real), but just as an aside, I do not understand all the people that rely on AI to verify this stuff. While interacting with AI, I find it to be wrong on tons and tons of stuff. But there is a subset of people that almost religiously hold up AI as some kind of authority, which is just disturbing. (maybe it will get there someday, but def not there yet!)
Almost on par with "CNN said it was true", therefore it's true. Maybe not quite that egregious, but in the ball park.
That's a good theory. I think my skepticism of AI comes from me constantly A/B testing my questions. When I ask and discuss things with it, and get an answer, I make a new session then larp as a leftwinger and ask the same things. It will constantly contradict itself and just agree with your worldview. (Although I do think most AI has a leftwing bias, since it is easier to get it to agree with that viewpoint). But I certainly see the ego stroking you are talking about!
Maybe so (it obviously did not in this case, but for the sake of argument I'll grant you that), however people don't use said sources in most of these cases. They just post screenshots of AI saying something is true or not. I'm not claiming AI is useless or wrong ALL the time. Just that I have personally found many times where it is in fact wrong, or heavily biased. I think at the level AI is now, it is at best a useful and advanced search tool, not an authority.. on anything! (Which I find a lot of people assume it is, or treat it as if it is)

There's a subset of people on this forum that do as well. Its entirely eerie
Ive noticed its those with an ego that use it more, probably because of how well it stokes it.

...but it often cites its sources which you can check for example (faux, loomer, etc.)
