I would think the EU doesn't want to lose the tourist trade. But things could be a little cold for people from the US until the dust settles, especially in the large urban areas or anyplace directly affected.
Having said that, I doubt Italy will be impacted by it as much as places like Germany.
Thanks for the insights. I am Italian but I don't speak it because my grandparents didn't pass on their culture to my parents because eye-talians were not well-liked at the time and so my grandparents Americanized their children quickly. I think someone owes me reparations ; )

Kek. By the same logic, I should have learned German and Czech. That didn't happen.
