Hitler was Austrian, and formed his political opinions in Vienna from observations of how the Austrian assembly worked. He was very critical of the German Weimar Republic. The city of Weimar is in Thuringia. Hitler's involvement in the Nazi Party was in Munich, in Bavaria.
