This is probably coms.

The ship's name is MV Hondius. Means "dog" in Dutch.

The "Virus" is carried by rats. Several different dogs are specifically bred to chase rats and kill them.

Are the rats fleeing the sinking ship?

Are some rats talking and exposing others?
