Probably a meme, but as Niel Armstrong has said on camera. We went to the moon, just not the way you think (or was presented). I still strongly suspect rocket launches are more for show, but we did go to the moon and we still have a presence on the moon. Just that whatever narrative is currently in place is a half truth.
It's all true. Get used to it. It helps to read up on the subject. The whole world was witness. The whole U.S. aerospace industry was involved. There was no other way to get there. Even Artemis II follows the pattern.
