If you just give these AI programs tasks with no oversight, this is what occurs. However, if you train them for the role, govt them clear cut rules, and train them how to perform their role properly, they will actually outperform most people in terms of efficiency.
Just like with any human, you don't just bring someone on and expect them to do a job without giving them anything in the way of expectations, rules and standards to follow, or training that equips them to finctionally do the job you hired them for. Especially in a role like that. It usually takes people years to attain and perfect the skills needed for a high level management role like that.
Even AI still needs training. Just because it has the necessary coding to do the job and has all the theoretical knowledge it needs to do it, that doesn't mean you can just say "Hey, I'm putting you in charge now," and expect it to function properly.

Why would you want to code a management position when the AI have not been trained to even manage task is beyond me.
IOW: garbage in, garbage out...
The Moral of the story:
You can't fix a hardware problem with software.

Honestly this is encouraging for the short term
