BTW Norway, due to sensible policy, has put the tax receipts from all north sea oil revenues into a sovereign wealth fund which is one of the biggest in the world. Iirc they own a few % of every company in the top 100 or so global companies.
The UK spent it on social housing for Afghans until they realised the money would be better taken from it's natives and the oil wealth just left to Norway.
