Just because you replied to a comment doesn’t mean that you’re correct. You don’t believe in God, so you have no understanding of how the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not the same as Allah. Your entire argument is from the aspect of Islam. As a Christian, I’m telling you that their god is not the same as my God.
If you want to argue that the Arabs are Semitic or that they are Abraham’s children — that’s fine. But they’re not the same religion and are not derived from the same religion. Ishmael’s mother, Hagar, was an Egyptian and did not worship Abraham’s God. Ishmael and Hagar were both sent away from Abraham and Sarah region sometime after Isaac was born. In fact, all of Abraham’s sons were sent from the region that was Isaac’s. They did not worship the same God, they are not Abrahamic religions.
I have understanding of a lot of things I don't believe in. It's ignorant to suggest belief is required for understanding. Throughout the world it is acknowledged there are three (3) Abrahamic religions. I have always been able to do this but AI makes it so easy. Definitely sounds like the same god that saved baby Ishmael.
"According to the biblical narrative (Genesis 21), Abraham sent his son Ishmael and his mother Hagar away into the desert at the demand of his wife, Sarah. Sarah saw Ishmael mocking his younger half-brother, Isaac, and insisted that Ishmael not share the family inheritance.
The critical events of the story include:
The Conflict: Sarah demanded both Hagar and Ishmael be cast out, which deeply distressed Abraham because Ishmael was his own flesh and blood.
Divine Intervention: God told Abraham to listen to Sarah, as his covenant line would continue through Isaac. God also promised to bless Ishmael and make him a great nation because he was Abraham's child.
The Departure: Abraham gave Hagar and Ishmael food and a skin of water and sent them into the Desert of Beersheba. The Rescue: When their water ran out, Hagar placed Ishmael under a bush and stepped away, unable to watch him die. An angel of God heard the boy's cries, comforted Hagar, and revealed a well of water to save their lives."
Yeah, it’s in the Bible because it’s Abraham’s God saving Ishmael. It’s not Hagar’s god, Egypt was polytheistic. Abraham’s God said no other gods. Allah is not the same as Abraham’s God. Islam is not an Abrahamic religion.
He clearly had a very direct and personal relationship with god in the story. What are you talking about? God promised to bless him and did. Frankly if god is real I think maybe you ought to consider humbly backing out of this! Don't want to piss off the big guy or all of us might be toast (again.)
I always learn a lot doing this. Thank you. Now I see a new perspective on why Israeli leadership/owners hate Muslims. It was that spiteful stepmother archetype Sarah. She used Ishmael as a placeholder and made poor Abraham send him and his sweet little mom into the desert as soon as she was able to bear a child.
Actually, yes, it was wrong of her to do such a thing. If she had been a less jealous person then things might have turned about better globally. And Hagar acted pretty awful as well. She had been selected by basically a queen to play what was a very important role in that society and upon seeing that she had been blessed with a child by the king of the tribe, she mocked her queen and allowed her own son to mock the heir. Kinda stupid to do that.
I rebutted that. To claim Islam is not Abrahamic is moronic. It certainly is so why are you implying I am ignorant?
