I wanna start by saying I am very very appreciative of Trump and him calling for Prayer and Rededication of America back to God. As many of you know my intentions when I left for the event were simply to meet people and network. Yet God had other plans. So I am simply sharing what I noticed even though I don't yet have the answers
-
we were 1 mile back in line and it took 4 hours to get into the event. At times the line barely moved. Surely there is a way to help that process more or at least utilize those 4 hours in a productive way. The people I met in line were actually one of my favorite parts. Though I noticed many remained to themselves
-
Protestors were hanging out around the lines. I noticed many Christians decided to talk bad about them...yet it was a prayer event so some group prayer at that time would have been awesome. Genuinely loving on them rather then just talking about them
-
once we got in a noticed immediately a yucky feeling. Honestly I felt like I was at a rally. To much Trump and America. Not enough Jesus and God. This isn't to say I didn't see some people kneeling in prayer or wearing God centered stuff. Just that I felt like a mix between concerts and rally.
-
the food was way way over priced and honestly not the best for you. 18-20 for a pizza and having to wait 1-130 in line for it. It felt like many people got food, sat down and ate and then just listened to whoever was on stage..
-
from what I saw there was no mass prayer breakouts. Most the prayer came from the men and woman on stage and the crowd simply followed along.
-
I looked up the company that ran it and the guy that was in charge. 400million dollars..owns a massive company. We talked the other day(c/Christianity) about church being a business and this is exactly the spirit I felt there.
-
merchandise was for sale in a tent. Didn't see a prayer tent though. Honestly wanted to make a whip and flip tables but I simply just observed
I might have some more to add to this. Again I don't have the solutions but this event feels like a one time thing and now we are on to the next news cycle.. prayer events is something I have been passionate about for 5 years now and I believe to truly take off it has to be grass roots. The companies that sponsored it were by no means Christian. MasterCard, exonmobil. I'm all for then donating but I also wonder how much they were able to control behind the scenes..
One thing I wish they would have done is gotten on stage for a min and given a topic. Then asked us to break off into groups of 50 or so(feed the 5000 anybody) and to spend some time in group prayer over these things.
As of right now I'm still praying on solutions. I hate to sound like im complaining. I went there with a completely different plan and God said nope...Ryan pay attention. So I observed and took notes and prayed..Gods funny. We plan something and he plans better.
I wanna end by saying i truly appreciate the chance to be there and that they even had an event. So don't wanna take away from that and I am sure there is much I missed as well. I don't have all the answers but I felt led to share all this
Watched it on TV. I found many of the speakers inspirational. The music was good, although I really, really like the old, the traditional hymns better.
I do not know what break out prayer is. If I had attended in person, I would want to listen to everything presented in the program. And if there is a program, alternate activities would be so disrespectful.
I understand there were participating churches all over the country. I heard one speaker say it was 19,000.
The cost of food was expected. It's Washington DC and vendors are pricy. A lunch box would be smart.
Did any of them truly repent or did they repent in general terms for the nation.
Why do you think Jesus broke each group into 50 people when he fed the 5000. Connections is more important then everyone sitting facing and listening to one speaker come up.
They didn't let you bring in outside food.
Are you saying it would be disrespectful for large groups of Prayer? Please explain
I appreciate where you're coming from, but this was a program which was meant for many worship traditions including a TV audience. Many prayers, many stories about how prayer was the deciding factor in this country's creation and in critical battles. I heard a consistent theme about re-education and I said many a prayer in my room, as Jesus directed.
Most of the people were evengelic Christian. I find that programs can often get in the way of the Spirit flowing..
Who did you see truly repent. Each person that went up kinda talked about America and her problems. But what about there own issues..
Have you ever been around a revival or an outpouring of the Spirit. Seen true confession and repentance. It's hard to put into words.
Again I wanna say I do see good in the event and love that it happened..it just felt like the typical business model that I believe the Lord is asking us to turn from.
Awww. You were hoping for a revival meeting. I saw nuns in the audience and have no idea what beliefs of most were, but this was meant for a wide audience and perhaps many of them took Jesus's admonition about public prayer, telling us to go to our rooms instead.
Let me ask you this. What are you doing different since yesterday. How did this change you
I included the troubled children in our country to my prayers because the problem is so big only God can cure it. And I have said many more small prayers. I also see more clearly how God guided and protected this nation and have a renewed appreciation of how important even my small roll is.
Pick a topic, break into groups and pray together. The people at home could join in.
Also I wanna add that it felt like a wall was between those on stage and those in crowd. Like the kings came out just far enough to be seen but not join the people.
I do understand your view though and had to really pray through this because I love each person that spoke and don't wanna take away from how special it was. I don't have all the answers this is just what the Lord showed me
I do understand. I can tell you my heart was touched and I shed many tears. I think this is meant to be a continuing effort. It's not one day and done. You are so sincerely dedicated, I expect you to expand the mission at home and on line. God bless you.
Thanks fren. Yes I wanna keep this going..it's my heart's passion to bring the power of Prayer through the Holy Spirit
