I bought a tub of 70% with aloe, but am too afraid to use it.
I crushed 5 discs in my lower back and it's ok ish, unless I stand in one place for 15 minutes then it kills me for days.
Does pure DMSO rubbed on the spine enough or does it need to be paired with other stuff? I gather that DMSO is like a super hacker who can get past every single defense of the human body and is one of the few chemicals that can penetrate deep into the body. But does DMSO alone heal or is it simply a carrier that breaks through the firewalls?
I haven't found a good reason to use it. My girl refuses to touch DMSO because that's what she used to kill all her cell cultures in medical labs so to her it's a pure poison
I used it as a solvent in a laboratory setting, so to me it was a chemical to be strictly avoided. BUT, after reading about how helpful it is here on this board, I decided to just go for it on my lower back which was extremely painful. I had been treating the pain by simply resting for months, Nothing. I had the pharmaceutical grade diluted to 70% (but was afraid to use it for a long time) and liberally applied it to my back. Then went to bed. The next morning, 80% of the pain was gone and it has mostly stayed gone after months with an occasional reapplication. Hope this helps.
Perfect. My girl did PhD lab work with cells and used it to kill off everything after a batch or whatever TF she was doing, so it's pure poison to her and she refused to use it (I bought it for her bad shoulder)
Just clean your skin really well. Don't put it on tattoos and watch fabrics in contact because of the dyes.
Mix 3 parts DMSO to 1 part water & slather it on the area. Forget swabs and gloves and all that. Don't need them...it just makes it cumbersome. Leave on for 15 min then wipe off. That's it.
You WILL feel itchy the first few times you use it. Any more than 75% and it's "too hot"... and it WILL heat up when you mix the water in.
The cream - same just rub it in.
The longer you've had the injury, the longer it takes to heal. I've found it helps with arthritis and muscle spasms.
so 15 minute applications directly next to the hurting discs. but how often do I apply? every day for a week or two? Any other chemicals I should be including? Since the DMSO is simply a carrier, I thought you needed to mix something with it and the DMSO "carries" whatever inside the skin barrier and deep into tissue. Or does DMSO itself do the healing?
Ill give it a try. Maybe cut the DMSO aloe gel down with some lotion so its less strong or something for the first few applications
You should not mix anything with dmso that you do not know every single indredient.
DMSO is the substance in trees that allows water to flow through its wooden interior. It will take whatever is in your lotion and bring it deeper into your body/cells. It is what keeps trees from exploding when water freezes and expands. If you mix it with lotion you will send every ingredient inside the lotion deeper into your body. Clean the area with soap and water before applying dmso.
How it got labeled a poison is another mystery. You should be careful when using it because of how it pulls other substances into the body. But a healthy respect and fear are not the same. Be careful, but good luck! DMSO heals.
I've used it on some minor stuff at 50%, used the pharmaceutical grade low-odor mixed with distilled water in a glass dropper bottle. You mostly want to make sure that the area you're applying it to and your hands are clean, because otherwise it will bring in whatever contaminant is on your skin. I suspect that may be a big reason why the FDA doesn't approve it.
DMSO is something else.

Same injury...5 burst fractures.

It doesn't need anything to work on its own... some do add other things.
As for frequency - you decide. I did once a day, but everyone is different.

I used DMSO bought on Amazon. 99 or 100% pure. Rubbed it on undiluted.
It will burn a little and itch like crazy. No worries, tho. This will only last a week or 2.
I always pair it with other stuff so I don't know whether it heals by itself.
