My own family got scammed by solar panel salesmen, the panels died after a year, the company disappeared, and now we have a gigantic eyesore in our backyard that is going to take a fortune to remove, and now thanks to that contract, I'm on the hook for another 20+ years of payments after they're gone.

Fucking Boomers. I told them it was a scam, but I'm younger than them, so clearly I'm dumber than them.
