If you've been following the news from Iran this last week, you'll see that the Iranian Military has been fighting against the Iranian IRGC. Several high level members of the IRGC have been ass-ass-in-ated. The Iranian military seems to be increasingly well armed and coordinated.
It's possible that Trump has been playing a magic trick on Iranian IRGC. Watch our ships... and troop numbers... and air force... and the missiles and drones and everything else we've arrayed against you... and be amazed!!! The IRGC HAS to man the missile sites, drone launchers, radar sites, etc... and they can't move troops around in case the U.S. does launch an attack. It freezes the IRGC troops in place, waiting for us to attack.
Meanwhile, while they watch the right hand... the left hand has been assisting the Iranian military to take back their own nation.
This weekend might be the unleashing. Iranian military will start crushing the IRGC from within, under U.S. coordination... and U.S. troops will start crushing the IRGC from without. The IRGC couldn't move positions, so the Iranian military can out-maneuver them and silently get into attack positions over time. When the GO whistle is given, the U.S. launches air and sea attacks on IRGC military fortifications while the Iranian military secures the main cities.
There is a regular Iranian army, navy, etc. The IRGC was superimposed by the Mullahs, analogously to the Nazis' Waffen-SS over the regular German Army.
The Persian army was known of ancient times as "The Immortal Guard." I think the regular forces have revived the name. Who knows? This could be a restoration of a civilization that dates back to the 5th century BC.
