Michigan House passes bill package that would eliminate property taxes
The bill package would eliminate the 6-mill tax, the 0.75% real estate transfer tax, and the pop-up tax. Plus, it has provisions to lower energy costs and freeze rate hikes from utilities like Consumers Energy and DTE.
I wish my state would begin eliminating taxes.my burden is outrageous and I feel it could be ended and the county i live could easily tighten their fiscal belts. Why have state of the art schools when we vould send our kids to a one room shack? Heck, my school system doesnt even teach the kids to write.
Pension and benefit liabilities are draining states and local municipalities dry - especially in jurisdictions where people retire getting paid more than when they were working. Union thievery at taxpayer expense.
That would be a blessing! We’ll see what the senate does. 🙏
