This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

to pass time I collect things. I am collecting CD's and only specific ones. However many do not know if you buy a CD at Walmart and it says, AC/DC Back In Black for example, there is about 20 plus versions of them and in the USA we are pushed the low dynamic range versions while places like Japan will buy the high dynamic range versions.
see the low dynamic range smashes the fidelity and they increase the sound floor to make it appear louder and their reasoning is people believe louder is better. Yet if one learns they will hear it and understand it is garbage.
One of my theories is they poison every aspect of the USA experience from food to music and we essentially full of woke retards who call everything a conspiracy theory.
for the example above if one gets the version made in Australia back in the 80's or one of the Japan versions that match and play it side by side, while understanding the sound will need to be cranked up a little on the higher fidelity one... it is less fatiguing... See the pysche behind this I think is they want to wear everyone out on every aspect of life. The low fidelity songs will fatigue one faster...
The trade off is News and Movies. Those they will keep as high fidelity in place to allow your brain to be massaged so to speak. This is why if you hear AC/DC in a movie it sounds way better.
Then everyone wants bluetooth headphones and they think the sample rate and such is more important than the fidelity of music. I am nerd on things but it is there and proof is there if one looks.
Even if one would ask why. Why do consumers in Japan get high fidelity music of the same songs that Americans get low fidelity. This started in the mid 80's and the mainstream call it the loudness wars. I was given insight of this when in my home town a trial was taking place on subliminal messaging on music. After that trail was over is when cd's in the USA started to push up the loudness and decrease the fidelity.
These people are genius on how they use good against good and good is ignorant to the deception.
