Recently I had to go to an ER. Told the doc I do not take any medications, am otherwise healthy, don't need any vaccines. I also told him I take care of my own health by way of diet, exercise and many vitamins and supplements. Left with a referral for a Cardiologist due to "high" blood pressure and "irregular" heart beat. My BP was elevated because I was in extreme pain, and due to the way the mechanical BP cuff compressed my arm so tightly that after a few tries my BP was actually elevated significantly. He was also horrified that I don't see an MD on a regular basis. He said at my age, I should be getting regular medical care. Fortunately I don't live in Canada.
