What stands out to me is how shaken and uncomfortable some of the astronauts seemed after returning. My theory is that they may have experienced things they were never allowed to talk about. Instead of revealing possible encounters with UFOs or extraterrestrial phenomena, NASA may have chosen to release the staged footage instead

This is what I think too.
