Commenter said it doesn't apply if it is a federal election (see copied text): FUN FACT: Democrat Governors cannot stop ICE from enforcing federal law within their states. This is because Obama sued Arizona in 2012 and the SCOTUS gave feds ULTIMATE authority over immigration enforcement. Hope this helps. 02/2026
