Family member had a catastrophic work injury. After two years of fighting for his SS disability… finally had to go to court with lawyer and prove his disability in front of a judge. He wasn’t even sposed to be out of bed. Judge took one look at the doctor’s report and the x-rays and was pissed. Hearing was over in 7 minutes. Judge wrote a scathing letter to SS admin and back dated payment to original injury date.
He was fortunate (good judge) but it should never have had to happen. It’s infuriating to watch the DS pass benefits out like candy to the illegals and the undeserving.
