Jun 30 2026 - Review for Energy cooperation is due June 30th 2026

There are certain provisions that UK has had to still adhere for 10 years since the Brexit, including Trade Cooperation, EU Law still overriding UK law, Energy cooperation with EU etc.

My reading is that if the government ends up extending these provisions, then UK will still be tied to EU and not fully be free. So its important that the government changes before that.

This is why Keir Starmer is furiously throwing Peter Mendelson under the bus. He just needs to ensure he stays in power under those dates.
