There was an article (and I am paraphrasing) "Why is everything so ugly?"

The answer, of course, is because they are trying. Nothing of beauty is allowed to hit the runway or the airwaves. It tells us who is gatekeeping. Even the models within lifetime memory are a stark contrast to the unfortunate people in public today.

It is sad, but it is obvious.
