The original FB link is after the text. I had to look them up (Wylie Police Department) because WHY LIE PD, right? But very real.
For two years, a public high school in Wylie, Texas had a problem with a sixteen-year-old boy. Marco Hunter-Lopez wanted to start a Republican club. He met every requirement the district laid out โ the ten members, the teacher sponsor, the room โ and was told no anyway, because his club was deemed too โ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ญโ. He says he was harassed and even threatened over his conservative views, and his story eventually reached a congressional hearing in Washington last month.
The administrator at the center of that fight has a name, and this week it surfaced in a very different kind of headline. Zachary Christian Neu, thirty-two, the former assistant principal and dean of students at Wylie East High School, was arrested on June 4 and charged with compelling prostitution of a person under eighteen โ ๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ-๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐ฒ. According to police, he offered a recent graduate alcohol and money for lingerie in exchange for sexual conduct.
It did not stop there. A day later, after investigators executed a search warrant on his personal devices, they identified ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ and added a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student. He is now being held in the Wylie jail on two bonds totaling one and a half million dollars.
Now sit with the order of events. This is the man who decided a teenagerโs Republican club was too dangerous for a public school โ while, prosecutors now allege, he was ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฐ๐๐ฅ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ. The official who policed a childโs politics stands accused of preying on the very students he was trusted to protect.
It is one of the oldest patterns there is. The people most eager to police what a child is allowed to believe are so often hiding the worst of themselves behind that authority. Parents were told to trust the school. Its own dean, it turns out,
I didn't know. It was a copy and paste. Thanks for the heads up, won't happen again.
Oh!
I was honestly expecting you to double down, like that other guy that does this a lot.
Thank you for the pleasant surprise. I appreciate it.
One of my post was perfect when I copied-pasted it, but when I posted it here, all the paragraphs ran together. I still do not know how some post are good but others all run together...
