“I am hereby calling on Republicans in Congress to IMMEDIATELY advance and pass the forthcoming $350 Billion Reconciliation Bill (Recon 3.0) — which, at the request of our Great Department of War — will include THE SAVE AMERICA ACT as well. No games, no delays, and no weak compromises! Do this ASAP."
"Pass ALL $350 BILLION and THE SAVE AMERICA ACT to secure the NATION for our children and grandchildren." 🇺🇸
Fire the parliamentarian so she can't strike it down!
Actually, Vance can simply decide to preside over the senate for that particular vote and just disregard the parliamentarian advisory opinion, simple majority rules. Now that Collins is on board it should pass with Vance tiebreaker vote.
According to Grok, so take with a grain of salt, the VP can disregard the parliamentarian advisory opinion by presiding over the Senate for that vote. Vance actually can do it. This is kinda a big deal.
But the Parliamentarian, if not mistaken, can rule that the ACT cannot be attached to the reconciliation bill.
My understanding is that a reconciliation bill is a special instrument, and thus because it has limited scope qualifies under present Senate rules for a 50 vote majority.
From what Grok tells me, again do your own research on this, the parliamentarian’s advice can be ignored by the presiding officer. If there is no 60 to outweigh the simple majority, the provision passes.
to be able to ignore all the 'noise' n not get panties in a twist, it's important to understand how this could/couldn't work, especially w the Byrd Act. it seems to be a more complicated path than the one they already have.

Now watch the parliamentarian say this addition violates rules.

That’s not what I read, but I’m no legal expert. Grok said otherwise. Edit: The parliamentarian doesn’t rule, it advises. Advice can be ignored.
I'll buy that. What do I know?
Same here, just thinking that maybe Collins’ flipping is a bigger deal than we realize.
Crafty move.
this was always thew plan
It will be blocked unfortunately...
Someone needs to sequester Collins until she votes on this.
We just don’t want cheating in our elections….
Thank you, Mr. President!
Until the Parliamentarian steps in.
