Some honest questions here. Reality appears not to be aligned with all the hype - at least not by what I can see from what has been made available coming from the administration or anyone else, including the Iranians. I am not a fan of pinky swear campaign promises. I am less interested in what others say as I am in what they do. Past performance is a good indicator of future actions. I am not going to apologize for having some huge doubts here and I am sure I am not alone. I trust Trump and have not had any issues on what he has done this far - until now. I am just being honest. If someone can explain it to me in a way that makes sense, I am all ears.
So, besides removing the blockade, what other financial relief is being given to the Islamic Republic? What the hell did the US receive for basically throwing the regime a lifeline when their ass was backed into a corner? This "agreement," at least on the surface, saves the regime and Hezbollah, maintains their threat over the Strait as well as their neighbors, and gives them the ability to pick up where they left off, all for some final deal to be worked out later. What are the guarantees that anything agreed to will be done? No plan has yet been agreed upon to remove the nuclear stockpile. So promises of a future disarmament do not hold much weight. We have heard this before. The Islamic Republic is about as trustworthy as the CCP - they never follow through on any agreement they have ever made.
So, of the cards the regime had left in their hand, they were left with all of them - somewhat weakened, but intact. Did Trump make some behind the scenes arrangement with the cardboard leader, Ghalibaf, and Araghchi for them to hand over the IRGC in exchange for their survival? Some are thinking these 3 have formed an alliance. They do not control the IRGC or the guns. The negotiating team have no real power within the country to basically make any deals they can deliver upon. The IRGC had a coup and took over Iran when Khamenei was killed and the others were powerless to do anything about it. They already controlled much of it to begin with.
From what I am seeing and hearing coming out of Iran, the IRGC has no intensions of handing over any nuclear material. The IRGC has been blowing up entrances at Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. Myself and some others are pretty sure that stockpile was moved to the Pickaxe tunnel facility which the US left untouched. Explosions from the other bombed facilities were filmed by Iranians on social media possibly as a distraction to move attention away from where it is really hidden - at Pickaxe. They are also booby trapping those areas in anticipation of an American assault. Does that sound like the IRGC are giving it up? That Islamic leopard cannot change its spots.
Forgive me if I am not impressed so far and will not be until I can see something more substantial. The Islamic regime will be back to their old tricks in no time - funding their militias hired to kill Iranian citizens, their proxies, and other illegal and sanctioned activity. The sanctions hadn't hurt them much beyond the peoples' suffering, which the regime cares little about. The regime did just fine selling oil illegally to China - who I am sure is chomping at the bit to be back in business. The blockade was hurting them as well.
I am trying. I will admit that I am at a bit of a loss when speaking to Iranian patriots that are feeling pretty discouraged right now. To them it looks like an American surrender. I can't say I blame them. It does look that way. Hoping that Trump has some other plan in the works other than what this looks like.
JD Vance stated on Fox, "Three things are important: the Strait of Hormuz will open immediately. Iran will never have nuclear weapons. If the Iranians honor the agreement, it will change the Middle East for the next 50 years. It will end the war, energy prices will drop for Americans."
In other words, all the confidence may be a bit premature. It does make the markets happy. Is Trump continuing to play the regime to fracture it from the inside even more than it already is? Ghalibaf and Araghchi may not survive this. They are the desperate ones. The regime supporters are demanding their heads for betraying their leader - the dead ayatoilet and his cardboard son that no one has seen. I prefer to keep applying economic pressure which is really causing them to turn on each other. All I know is that if this regime is allowed to survive, this will never be over for anyone - including us. They will not stop their ideological jihad.
Iran is Muslim.
A requirement of Islam is to lie and deceive the infidel. That's us.
Therefore nothing will happen, QED.

...you have a firm grasp of the situational reality...
In the past they have shown us multiple times that they cannot be trusted. Just saying
