I think with blockchain this could potentially be a good idea. It would be far more secure than mail in ballots, counted immediately, and audits would be easy too. If implemented correctly. ID with registered address that matches as proof of residency etc.. it blows the hell out of the system that exists now.
Any digital processing of votes leaves us open to software manipulation of votes. There is absolutely no way to stop a bad actor from changing the outcome of an election if they gain access to the code in a digital counting system, and no way to prove it was done after if they cover their tracks right.
Is that not literally what blockchain is for

Denial-of-service: Networks remain vulnerable to DoS attacks that could block eligible voters
Vendor opacity: Many blockchain voting vendors (like West Virginia's) keep cryptographic protocols secret, preventing independent security audits

No. It would not be implemented securely, because the people who want it don’t want election security now. Who know who’s on the other end of the phone? Are they being paid or coerced? Paper ballots is the only way to go.
I imagine if it was done corrextly there would be plenty of verification. We are altready sitting with the verification tech in our pockets. Add the things i said earlier and it actually could be done.
