Get them to create monk-like script., with the hundreds of turtorials available online, step by step instructions - break the letter sets up so that once one gets the 'a', one can move on to a 'g' and a 'q' given that they all have that tummy.
One of my sons got right into it, and produced a accented, curly gothic script that told the reader all about plovers and their habitats. When the school-teacher saw it, she accused us adults of forging it. NVM.
