Not so hard to fathom given that a lot of their internet infrastructure is Chinese. So is Canada's. The CCP will give them the tools to lock it down. They have done it in other places besides China. Iran was one of the most recent ones I can think of.
The Nepal government was overthrown last year when their government decided to start restricting social media. That was Sept last year. They also had Huawei infrastructure and were advised by the Chinese government. So glad Trump banned Huawei equipment in the US back in 2019.

That would be amazing. But sadly, I won't hold my breath. Their socialist governments have all but knocked the fight out them. We saw how the trucker movement was suppressed. There was hope for some meaning change or at the least discussion on their issues, that was until the Canadian government clamped down. It really looked like a CCP operation the way they brought in crowd suppression goons dressed in police uniforms. I saw a few that appeared to be Chinese. Even some of the people were saying WTF. How are average citizens supposed to fight against not only their own government, but also foreign interference that is some cases is hijacking their own government?
