His home in Belfast had sand bags all around it fending off Communist IRA terrorists led at the time by Bernadette Devlin among others.

Agreed. They were heavily left leaning in the North, not so much in the South.
They morphed into a marxist political movement “Sinn Fein”, they are showing their true globalist marxist colours now for all to see.
