Ford Hires Back Former Engineers to Fix Errors Caused by AI
Ford is acknowledging the challenges it faced with AI production and design systems after the automaker recently claimed the top spot in JD Power's initial quality ranking for mainstream brands for the first time in 16 years. According to Ford, attempting ...
I mean considering the problems Ford had when the Human Engineers were designing things. Is the end user or your average mechanic going to notice if it was an AI or a Human Engineer whenever they’re cursing out whoever designed it?
FixOrRepairDaily. FORD, We're driven, you're riding the bus. 😂😒
I think my favorite example is some models of Ford had a recall for the driver air bag going off when the driver cranked the ignition and the front passenger closing the door simultaneously. 😂
AI can do analysis, which should ALWAYS be proofed by a human expert!
NOTHING like a Calculator, Math program, Materials specs to see what is going on in the innards of anything...I do hope that Ford Learned their lesson!!!!!
AI is NOTHING but a facial cream applied once a day to look good, and that is all...IT is the human mind that can discern what is going on, including a computer program or design program these idiots use!!!! That is ALL!!!!!!
A friend of mine was in purchasing for 30 years. When Covid hit, he faced a lot of challenges. Since he had 25 years of being a great customer and kept good relationships with suppliers, they looked after him. After he retired, they moved his office to A.I. to save money. They don't realize that the human element was a stronger bond than A.I. will ever be.
Morons
I hope they demanded a 200% raise. Minimum.
These corporate assholes need to learn.
Dilbert would have had a long run on AI.
A new guy at work relies heavily on AI to do his job. Then asks me all frustrated when I request a change to his code because he doesn’t have the slightest idea what the code is doing. He couldn’t even test it because he had already run out tokens.
This is a project I did the proof of concept on and had to hold myself back from completing it at that point (ie, leaving some meat on the bones to give him something to work on). It’s been months and I could have been done with it and completed ten other things.
Automotive engineers should have to WORK in the field for at least one year before the car that requires the tech to stand on his head and have two elbows in order to change a sensor can be designed or built.
