Biggest mistake I made was letting my last one go about 20 years ago. I left it with a polish “mechanic” over Christmas for a service, went away for two weeks.
Came back, it was in my driveway but wouldn’t start. He forgot to put cooler or top up the oil, I can’t remember exactly, but lots of engine damage. It was essentially a write off, I couldn’t afford to fix it at the time (Ireland 2008, bad times).
