I had given Vance the benefit of doubt even with his Tucker connections and indian wife. Recently Trump said something about MOU that puts things a different. When MOU was announced, he said something like "Its on JDV if that doesn't work". Trump was probably testing him. It seems Rubio was far away from the MOU.
What I think is, its not pre-determined who will be the successor. Trump is testing them in fire so that whoever remains standing in the end, is the one we all can trust.
That's the way it looks to me. Trump is hedging bets by training up BOTH Vance AND Rubio, and to a lesser extent, Hegseth. That's the mark of a good leader. I did this with my own Marines and Sailors. You train multiple people to be able to do the job of the leader. You cross train everyone so there's redundancy in the event there's ever a gap that needs to be filled. And you lean heavily on the people that show the most promise/talent who also have the most drive to succeed. Even if it means you have to drag a few of them by the scruff of the neck. Hold them accountable. Blast them when they make mistakes, but do it with fairness and compassion. Reward them when they succeed, but don't do it in a way that makes their heads swell with bravado and cockiness. Let them carry the swagger that inevitably develops as they get better, but hammer them hard when they take it too far. Lastly, you back them up 100% of the time because, at the end of the day, whatever decisions they make in your name are yours to own, good or bad. Especially the bad decisions. That shows your people that you trust them and care for them and will stop at nothing to see them succeed. It's how you build a team that will literally die for you. A team that can go out and conquer the world, if you ask it of them. A team that will be more than happy to carry the mantle when it's their time.
That's what I love about Trump the most. It's his leadership style that keeps me interested.
Too many people get carried away with the media's take on him and they get way too carried away with how he talks and all the goading he does. They can't see that it's all a mask meant to keep everyone off balance and distracted enough so he can get the real work done without being bothered by their idiocy.
You may be right.
He's also getting very good press, from all the stuff he does.
I'm not sure if Vance could beat him.

Rubio's coming to fix our plumbing tomorrow afternoon.
What? We already booked him to do our landscaping! That double timer! 🤣
The plumbing job shouldn't take him long. He'll be at your place after that.
I heard he has some Mullah's cull in between.
Wait a minute! He’s cleaning my basement!!
