I remember well the debate about why trucks needed to pay a "premium" tax on gas because they impacted roads to a greater degree than cars. I did not know the rate.
The fuel tax on trucks varies per state. The "trucks are heavier so they do more damage" myth was brought up to justify charging more. Just think about the $550.00 per truck every year.
I remember the fed debate. That is a hefty tax.
