I don't believe the prospect of a civil war for a moment. There is no antagonism in the street.

The left might like to think they could drum one up, but their backing consists of a hard minority of kamikaze revolutionaries and a soft majority of moral cowards. (You have to remember the left's world view consists entirely of delusions, to which they subscribe. A bad match to reality.) The right is a little different, but still largely consisting of an armed and eager minority and a more troubled stay-at-home majority. So, I can see it coming down to some riots and street clashes, but our fact-facing ex-military are more than a match for their revolutionary wannabees, so I can foresee maybe some bloody encounters followed by a drop in leftist ardor.

There is the interesting question of what to do about the breakdown of law and order in the blue-dominated large cities. Which way will the police fall? A misplaced loyalty to a tyrannical regime could lead to tragic outcomes. A lack of wise leadership on the popular side could also lead to tragic outcomes.

So, not much will happen in red states, but there could be turmoil in the major cities of blue states. Maybe the key popular objective would be to gain control of the network centers.
