Sometime in the last year i saw a post that was a link offsite to an article that detailed the decline of todays executive suite. Basically, execs of old were invested in the company; rising and falling as the company did. This drove ideas, risk, results. Because their fortunes were tied to successful action they acted!
It goes on to detail how todays exec willchire agencies to take the risk and set thencourse, to avoid accountability. Because they get paid either way, either through bonuses for success orngolden parachutes for failures, they are not invested in the resilts which stifles progress. They lack the accountability of old and push all of the failure onto these outside agencies.
Ive tried to use the seach features of the site to find the article, but was unsuccessful. If anyone has either a link to the article or the original post it would be greatly appreciated!
