If it was a licensed therapist that manipulated the young lady into doing exactly this - we would be calling for jail time, or more.
Since it was AI, it will get a “pass” and people will blame her and her family………thinking it was anything but AI…….probably including some here.
It is an interesting dilemma. One we aren’t really prepared for in the legal system and elsewhere in society.
I do think many underestimate the potential power of psychology and AI as a weapon.

How about every ai is regulated to end its session with: I am not a human, you are interacting with a software program.

If AI was really that dangerous, President Trump wouldn't be so interested in promoting it. Neither would Elon.
I'm sorry this woman had the problems she did, but AI didn't cause them. It's not much different than blaming music, tv, movies, video games or books for when people make poor life choices.
