Is that giant missile a Chinese design?
I would say that they are fakes. Someone (China and allied conspirators) wanted to stir up a Trump-was-weak-and-let-NK-build-super-missiles fairy tale. They then got friendly mil analysts to say a few things to push the narrative. But the last one gave a hint of the real opinion -- at the very least, it's not operational.
It's virtually impossible to develop such a missile quietly without being noticed. And nobody noticed this one, so it's a mockup. Look at the conduit running most of the first stage's length -- it looks like a prop rather than a real missile. And the checkerboard pattern looks like the painter saw too many Saturn V Youtube videos.
