Some of the earliest records of a saros is by Chaldean, neo- Babylonian, astronomers. Their civilization ruled via a lunisolar calendar. The Babylonian civil calendar, also known as the cultic calendar. It was used in Mesopotamia from ~ 2000BC to the founding of the Seleucid Empire, 294BC. The lunisolar calendar origin can be traced back to the Sumerians. One of the oldest civilizations discovered.

Earliest historical records of the saros are pulled from the Suda, a Byzantine lexicon from the 11th century. Within the Suda it is quoted from Berossus, a Babylonian writer and a priest for Bel Marduk, that a saros, or saru in Babylonian vernacular, was 222 months by the Babylonians count. I assume the difference in today's standard of 223 months and Babylonians of 222 months is due to the ancients' use of different calendars, based on lunar months and their observational accuracy at the time.

Three saros cycles equates to what is called an exeligmos or Greek for ‘turning of the wheel. It’s another significant pattern and prediction method of eclipses. With every exeligmos, a solar and lunar eclipse of similar characteristics to the previous triple saros can be observed. Therefore, according to ancient metrics, a significant chronological event occurs every 666 months that could be tied to ancient rituals and sacrifices. The sundial on Epstein's island with what appears to be a sacrificial stone may allude to this.

Worship of Bel and the ‘dragon’ may have been prevalent in Babylon, according to the apocryphal chapters of the book of Daniel. In chapter 14, the story of Bel and the Dragon are told, demonstrating that open worship of dark idols was practiced.

Amidst the flurry of predictable anti-Semitic finger wagging and sloppy damage control, a sinister hypothesis can be pieced together. Dirty mattresses and high chairs in tunnels is what allegedly was happening under the temple on Epstein's island. If you want a more tangible example, the cult leader Joao Teixeira de Faria, also known as ‘ John of God,’ had multiple testimonies of him doing the same thing: Young girls would be kidnapped, raped, and forced to carry full term, only to then have their babies sold on the black market. They would be hidden in mineral mines or farms and bred for ten years after which they were murdered. Accounts suggest he did this to hundreds of women.

Then there is the absurd, official reason given for the tunnels under the Chabad synagogue. As for Epstein’s connection with the Chabad dynasty, it has proven difficult to pin down exactly what Jewish sect Jeffrey claimed but reports show that his childhood home was just across the street from a Chabad-Lubavitch synagogue. That synagogue mysteriously caught fire in early 2017.

There are many elements of the Chabad-Lubavitch dynasty that when combined with the recent incident at its world headquarters, suggest something strange and nefarious might be going on with this sect. Predominantly speculative but still pertinent in the right context. I’ll just list a few but historical expounding is required later to further demonstrate their importance.

Chabad is a Hasidic Jewish sect. The founder of Hasidic Judaism, Israel ben Eliezer, was known as Baal Shem Tov. Apologists will flippantly dismiss the use of Baal as just Hebrew for master but when you’re dealing with a clandestine cabal of Baal worshippers, that’s exactly what you would expect.

The founder of the Chabad dynasty, Shneur Zalman of Liadi, was known as Baal HaTanya. For those keeping score and studying their history, this should not be dismissed. Especially from a sect that just had slave tunnels discovered under their headquarters and likely had ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

There are at least over 200 Hasidic dynasties by my count, likely more, and around 50 of them are from Ukraine. Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations in the world with what appears to be a massive Nazi presence. The history of that area does not do it any favors. Many of the Ukrainian dynasties fall within the historical borders of Khazaria.

With a little groundwork laid on the Chabad dynasty, we will circle back to the Rabbi that founded Shabtai. Rabbi Shmully Hecht. Rabbi Hecht bragged in one piece of how his family goes back 3 generations within the Chabad dynasty. One of those Rabbis, who I assume is Shmully’s father, Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht worked very closely with Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

One of the most influential Jewish leaders of the 20th century and one of the most recent and important leaders of the Chabad-Lubavitch dynasty. Also known as Lubavitcher Rebbe or simply the Rebbe, Schneerson is credited with bringing Chabad from near ruin after WW2 to one of the most prominent Jewish movements in the world. His prowess was so great that a messianistic movement formed around him in which a group of Hasidic Jews considered Schneerson to be the messiah. The messiah of what could be a Hasidic dynasty that is possibly the synagogue of Satan.

This is who Rabbi Shmully Hecht's father worked closely with as his assistant and translator. The same Hecht that Vivek Ramaswamy says is a dear friend with whom he talks to on a weekly basis.

I was writing this before Vivek dropped out of the race but considering he could be vying for VP, and the deep state may force Trump to pick him just as they did with Pence, research on Ramaswamy is still imperative.

Anti-Semitic disclaimer: I have no problem with the Jewish community and I believe most Jews are good, and oftentimes great people. That being said, every time a deep state asset that identifies as Jewish comes under scrutiny, they play the anti-Semite card. I expect all the proper Jews that are in good standing with God to find this as alarming as I do and hope they will act accordingly. I may have stumbled upon a little hopeum with the recent video released by the 4th PSYOPS Group.  

Something has bothered me every since I watched Trumps farewell speech, 3 years ago. He said something in such a peculiar manner that it immediately set off my comms alarm. In the first minute of his farewell speech Trump says, "... and we also want them to have luck. A very important word." He didn't wish them the typical 'good luck' and furthermore, he then emphasized the word lucks importance. Such an anomalous way to phrase it, it struck me as too odd. Even for our sometimes eccentric Commander in Chief.

Fast forward years later and the 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne) 'steps onto the stage with their first video a year ago, 'Ghost in the Machine' and 8 days ago, 'Among the stars.' First, some background on this group. They are a military information support operation working under the 1st Special Forces Command at Fort Liberty. Their mission is to degrade enemy moral and influence global populations to either "fight, surrender, or BELIEVE." Their motto is Verbum Vincet. The Word Will Conquer.

Here I learned that the primary emblem in their crest is a quatrefoil. The official definition of a quatrefoil is- an ornamental design of four lobes or leaves as used in architectural tracery, resembling a flower or four-leaf clover.

Luck—a very important word. During such a chaotic and desperate time, I believe Trump was trying to tell us something. Letting us know that the Ghost were operational. That the mission was underway and things were not as they seem. Think about it. Trump had the deep state on their backs. He upset their Great Reset time table. He upended their plans for a new dark age under the guise of a public health crisis. He coaxed the masses to action and began the process of stirring the sleeping giant. I was curious why Trump would endorse someone as corrupt as McCarthy. I have enough faith in Trump, and the military guiding him ( the military is the only way,) to realize there has to be a dire reason he would endorse an obvious RINO for such a critical position. Luckily, I stumbled across LordKekingtonEsquire's post with these vital quotes.

Speaking on the opposition which includes Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz (FL), Ralph Norman (SC), Bob Good (VA) and Matt Rosendale (MT) who have placed their support behind Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ), he told the outlet, “Now, I’m friendly with a lot of these people who are against Kevin. I think almost every one of them are very much inclined toward Trump, and me toward them. But I have to tell them, and I have told them, you’re playing a very dangerous game.

“You could end up with the worse situation. I don’t even want to say what it is,” Trump cautioned, “but I could tell you it’s a worse situation. You could end up with some very bad situations.”

I'll postulate on what these situations could be but at the end of the day, with such an ominous warning from Trump, we should heed his advisement and once again, trust the man and the plan he is a part of.

Theory: The RINOs will not vote for anyone else but McCarthy. Especially someone as dangerous as Jordan. The position is too powerful and at this stage in the war, they and their handlers simply can't afford to lose Speaker. With a razor thin lead in the house, the RINOs may sabotage the vote entirely. Giving the speakership to Democrats instead of risking losing so much power to a true patriot like Jordan, or worse. McCarthy 'warned' of this in November:

"This is very fragile, that we're the only stopgap for this Biden administration, and if we don't do this right, the Democrats can take the majority. If we play games on the floor, the Democrats can end up picking who the speaker is."

A 'warning' or, coming from a RINO, a threat from the deep state. ' Let the RINO be Speaker or we'll only make it worse for you.' It may be too early in the game to make a powerplay like this. The deep state will simply go scorched earth before giving up such a powerful position to someone like Jordan who could do serious damage. As bad as everyone wants that we have to remember this is war and a carefully orchestrated plan is being executed. To take Speaker from the deep state now may be akin to cornering a dangerous foe. Risking the escalation that comes with fighting an adversary that truly believes there is no escape.

Even Jim Jordan is alluding to that being the case as he nominated McCarthy in the second round of voting. Jordan is a smart man but most importantly, he listens to Trump. He knows Trump is being guided by advanced intel. So I believe, after Trumps warning Jordan realized the truth of the matter. The deep state simply won't let us have such a powerful position and they will do anything to keep it from happening, and I do mean anything. Including even the possibility of another false flag or an assassination.

Trumps cautionary remarks of 'a very dangerous game' and 'I don't even want to say what it is' gives me the impression the deep state will do anything to keep someone like Jordan from taking Speaker. Someone as patriotic and intelligent as Jordan would be akin to Caesar crossing the Rubicon. The power he would wield is simply too great. Potentially cornering the deep state, they can and will do anything to avoid such a dangerous maneuver. Including false flags that escalate the situation. Not only putting the few patriots in DC at risk but even patriots abroad.

One of the guns the deep state is holding to our head is a false flag they will use to ramp up persecution of patriots. When I say assassination I'm not talking about taking out one of ours but a sacrifice of one of theirs. A sacrifice they will capitalize on and use to great effect. By now I would hope most of you understand who we are dealing with and how they operate.

Remember their little show on the 15th? Right before Trumps big announcement? A missile launched by 'Russia' into Poland. That was a prestaging of a hot WW3 narrative they were going to use to cut the feeds if Trump started dropping proverbial nukes. Trumps announcement of running was great news but that demonstration should have sent chills down everyone's spine. They will use false flags to derail the campaign if we move too quickly. What happened on the 15th served as a reminder as to why we have to handle this so carefully and with such measured tempo.

We have to be realistic in our goals and always remain grounded in the reality of this war and our enemies capabilities. The primary strategy is to slowly, safely deplete their resources while simultaneously peeling back the grasp the deep state has on the minds of citizens. The best is truly yet to come but discretion is the better part of valor. You never corner an adversary and risk invoking a last stand with potentially nuclear consequences. It's better to let them retreat with false hope. Whittling them down one by one.

Written within is powerful language, letting us know who these people are, how they undermine the people's vote, and therefore must be ended. Biden 'revoked' it a month later but if you think that meant anything by now I have a bridge to sell you. War is deception. Our enemy is one of subversion and subterfuge via infiltration and coercion. If you know your enemy is orchestrating a massive operation, the wiser general will see their infiltrations not as a problem but an opportunity. As we learned in WW2, a captured spy is good, a double agent is better, but a discovered asset that does not know their cover is blown, is best. You can then feed that asset bad intel, monitor their comms, and with careful planning and the required sacrifices, you can destroy the most dangerous of foes.

You think our military is ineffective because of obviously compromised officers? Oh my young Padawan, now would be a good time to grab more popcorn. With an operation of this scale, the Great Reset, they require assets at all layers of society. Especially our military. If you know the cabal is grooming a cadet to be a four star General, you don't remove him from the equation. Doing so would risk them adapting and having a better chance of success with their next attempt. They will not stop till they acquire these assets so instead of risk not detecting the next infiltration, you nurture and contain it. You give them a four star General and in doing so, you have control of a major asset that they could come to rely heavily on. If they do, and it seems as though they have, you can assure victory by exploiting the oldest liability in the book: Hubris.

These people really are stupid. They underestimated the greatest military in history and most importantly, one of histories most notable lessons: The peril of hubris. Over confidence is the single greatest victor in the annals of war. Time and time again, Generals have underestimated an enemy only to be crushed by what they thought were inferior forces. With an adversary like the one we face today, their powerful stealth tactics coupled with an air of superiority, nurturing their pride was the logical choice. As the Art of War prescribes, "If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant."

With an asset like General Milley for instance, if he truly is compromised, we've had a deep state asset under our control for decades now. Under constant surveillance, we not only fed him critical intel that would lead to catastrophic blunders like assuming Hillary wouldn't lose but also assumptions on the deep states part that no real threat of a counter existed within our military. Incredible planning and sacrifice has gone into the cultivation of this asset but in doing so, compromised officers like Milley have likely been vital to our success against such a surreptitious adversary.

As the cabal amasses more assets, supposedly cleared of any surveillance or discovery by top brass like Milley, enough of their spy network is compromised as to assure the foiling of their ultimate plan. Once they were locked into a deadline, blinded by hubris developed over generations, they fell for the greatest trap in history: Trump and the 2016 election. Though chance of success is high with this strategy, it does not come without a price. Namely, the required sacrifices needed to convince the cabal said assets are indeed secure.

A perfect example of this is the Enigma conundrum. The Germans never realized their Enigma code had been cracked as early as 1932. A linchpin to allied success, the Nazis continued to use the compromised code throughout the war. The advantage came with a heavy toll, however. As German communications could now be deciphered by allies, tragic sacrifices had to made in order to maintain the illusion that the Enigma code was still impregnable. One such example is convoy PQ 17.

As the allied convoy sailed from Iceland to the Soviet Union, cracked enigma communications revealed that the Germans had discovered the convoy and were planning an attack. The allied command was faced with a dire situation. If they told the convoy how to safely navigate around sub infested waters, there was a good chance the Germans would realize their enigma code had been solved. Leading to them changing the code and the allies losing a massive advantage. Faced with the possibility of losing such a priceless advantage, and risking the entire war by it, the commanders opted for the only choice they really had. Convoy PQ 17 steamed forward, unaware they were heading straight into the jaws of the Germany navy. Over the course of 10 days, they came under constant attack. By the time they reached their destination, 24 ships and 153 sailors had been lost.

Tragic instances like this happened throughout World War 2 yet their sacrifice was not in vain as it contributed greatly to the allies victory. Todays war is very similar in this regard. Allied militaries learned that it is better to nurture and protect a discovered asset than risk the enemy evolving a more advanced asset that may not be detectable or breakable. Even if that means sitting on intel that could save servicemen's lives. As harrowing as it was to watch a seal team get shot down or embedded assets in China during the Obama reign eliminated. Against such a dangerous foe, it was a necessary sacrifice to save exponentially more lives in the long run.

This same axiom applies to the vaccines, as well. Operation Warp Speed did not just thwart the initial launch of the Great Reset. It also served to expose and implicate vital factions of the deep state. Akin to the Enigma sacrifices of WW2, the loses incurred by the shots will be critical to defeating the cabal as the entire deep state apparatus has now engaged in global genocide. As Q put it, an indefensible position, marred in atrocities will be their downfall. And just as it was in WW2, the Enigma advantage can not be divulged for the war is far from over.

This is why Trump continues to 'endorse' the vaccines. It is the only course of action he can take to avoid the fallout of the greatest crime in history as it had to be allowed. Else we risk foiling our best chance of impetus strong enough to justify the extreme measures needed to defeat them. Besides, almost the entire population was going to take or decline the vaccine despite whatever Trump said, anyways. This is evident in the fact that around half his base adamantly refused the shot, despite his coaxing. Those that were going to take it, we going to do it anyways. Ending the shut downs with Warp Speed and acquiring solid impetus against the cabal saved countless lives compared to the few that may have listened to Trump. Plausible deniability is the only logical choice he has now. Like the commanders overseeing PQ 17. A brutal choice had to be made to ensure victory and avert a dark age.

Reflect on the lessons of PQ 17 and understand the nature of our enemy. Realize great sacrifice has been made throughout the century to lull humanities greatest enemy into a false sense of security. Come to terms with the stark reality that in order to best such a deadly foe, maintaining assets like Enigma and Milley required sacrificing good men. Some will listen to their financial adviser till the day it all crashes. Some just can't imagine a world where this could happen but the writing is on the wall. Covering broader policy, it invokes the Paris Agreement and it's three objectives," building upon—the Paris Agreement's three overarching objectives (a safe global temperature, increased climate resilience, and financial flows aligned with a pathway toward low greenhouse gas emissions and climate-resilient development)" It also begins with the statement, " PART I—PUTTING THE CLIMATE CRISIS AT THE CENTER OF UNITED STATES FOREIGN POLICY AND NATIONAL SECURITY" Making it loud and clear this his this administrations primary objective: Killing fossil fuels and all the industries dependent upon it. Like farming...

Again, this is just one of four Biden EOs solely dedicated to climate change. Climate change rhetoric can be found in many other EOs. He is waging all out war on fossil fuels. Just like he said he would on the campaign trail. This is only the beginning. I suspect they're going to push society over the edge this winter. With the impending pandemic shut downs, they are going to hit us with a myriad of energy restrictions meant to break the back of America.

Of course if you were paying really close attention, you may have realized this is part of the plan. Most people didn't realize this but one of Trumps primary goals wasn't to fix DC. It was to show you it was beyond saving. There is no fixing this. Remember what Q told you:

We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision, including the one on which the defenders of Roe and Casey now chiefly rely—the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. That provision has been held to guarantee some rights that are not mentioned in the Constitution, but any such right must be “deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition” and “implicit in the concept of ordered liberty.” Washington v. Glucksberg, 521 U. S. 702, 721 (1997)

Indeed, when the Fourteenth Amendment was adopted, three quarters of the States made abortion a crime at all stages of pregnancy.

Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences.

And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate and deepened division.

It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives. “The permissibility of abortion, and the limitations, upon it, are to be resolved like most important questions in our democracy: by citizens trying to persuade one another and then voting.” Casey, 505 U. S., at 979 (Scalia, J.). That is what the Constitution and the rule of law demand.

Constitutional analysis must begin with “the language of the instrument,” Gibbons v. Ogden, 9 Wheat. 1, 186–189 (1824), which offers a “fixed standard” for ascertaining what our founding document means. The Constitution makes no express reference to a right to obtain an abortion, and therefore those who claim that it protects such a right must show that the right is somehow implicit in the constitutional text.

Roe, however, was remarkably loose in its treatment of the constitutional text. It held that the abortion right, which is not mentioned in the Constitution, is part of a right to privacy, which is also not mentioned. And that privacy right, Roe observed, had been found to spring from no fewer than five different constitutional provisions—the First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments.

Roe expressed the “feeling” that the Fourteenth Amendment was the provision that did the work, but its message seemed to be that the abortion right could be found somewhere in the Constitution and that specifying its exact location was not of paramount importance.

In deciding whether a right falls into either of these categories, the Court has long asked whether the right is “deeply rooted in [our] history and tradition” and whether it is essential to our Nation’s “scheme of ordered liberty.”

As Lincoln once said: “We all declare for Liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing.”

In interpreting what is meant by the Fourteenth Amendment’s reference to “liberty,” we must guard against the natural human tendency to confuse what that Amendment protects with our own ardent views about the liberty that Americans should enjoy. That is why the Court has long been “reluctant” to recognize rights that are not mentioned in the Constitution. Collins v. Harker Heights

As the Court cautioned in Glucksberg, “we must . . . exercise the utmost care whenever we are asked to break new ground in this field, lest the liberty protected by the Due Process Clause be subtly transformed into the policy preferences of the Members of this Court.”

The Court must not fall prey to such an unprincipled approach. Instead, guided by the history and tradition that map the essential components of our Nation’s concept of ordered liberty, we must ask what the Fourteenth Amendment means by the term “liberty.”

When we engage in that inquiry in the present case, the clear answer is that the Fourteenth Amendment does not protect the right to an abortion.

Moreover, we are aware of no common-law case or authority, and the parties have not pointed to any, that remotely suggests a positive right to procure an abortion at any stage of pregnancy.

The inescapable conclusion is that a right to abortion is not deeply rooted in the Nation’s history and traditions. On the contrary, an unbroken tradition of prohibiting abortion on pain of criminal punishment persisted from the earliest days of the common law until 1973. The Court in Roe could have said of abortion exactly what Glucksberg said of assisted suicide: “Attitudes toward [abortion] have changed since Bracton, but our laws have consistently condemned, and continue to prohibit, [that practice].”

but they have found no support for the existence of an abortion right that predates the latter part of the 20th century—no state constitutional provision, no statute, no judicial decision, no learned treatise. The earliest sources called to our attention are a few district court and state court decisions decided shortly before Roe and a small number of law review articles from the same time period.

Roe termed this a right to privacy, and Casey described it as the freedom to make “intimate and personal choices” that are “central to personal dignity and autonomy,” Casey elaborated: “At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life.”

These attempts to justify abortion through appeals to a broader right to autonomy and to define one’s “concept of existence” prove too much. Casey, 505 U. S., at 851. Those criteria, at a high level of generality, could license fundamental rights to illicit drug use, prostitution, and the like.

But despite the dissent’s professed fidelity to stare decisis, it fails to seriously engage with that important precedent—which it cannot possibly satisfy.

But as the Court has reiterated time and time again, adherence to precedent is not “‘an inexorable command.’” Kimble v. Marvel Entertainment, LLC, 576 U. S. 446, 455 (2015). There are occasions when past decisions should be overruled, and as we will explain, this is one of them.

Our opinion is not based on any view about if and when prenatal life is entitled to any of the rights enjoyed after birth. The dissent, by contrast, would impose on the people a particular theory about when the rights of personhood begin. According to the dissent, the Constitution requires the States to regard a fetus as lacking even the most basic human right—to live—at least until an arbitrary point in a pregnancy has passed.

In this case, five factors weigh strongly in favor of overruling Roe and Casey: the nature of their error, the quality of their reasoning, the “workability” of the rules they imposed on the country, their disruptive effect on other areas of the law, and the absence of concrete reliance.

Roe was on a collision course with the Constitution from the day it was decided, Casey perpetuated its errors, and those errors do not concern some arcane corner of the law of little importance to the American people.

Rather, wielding nothing but “raw judicial power,” the Court usurped the power to address a question of profound moral and social importance that the Constitution unequivocally leaves for the people.

The Court short-circuited the democratic process by closing it to the large number of Americans who dissented in any respect from Roe. “Roe fanned into life an issue that has inflamed our national politics in general, and has obscured with its smoke the selection of Justices to this Court in particular, ever since.”

As Justice White later explained, “decisions that find in the Constitution principles or values that cannot fairly be read into that document usurp the people’s authority, for such decisions represent choices that the people have never made and that they cannot disavow through corrective legislation. For this reason, it is essential that this Court maintain the power to restore authority to its proper possessors by correcting constitutional decisions that, on re-consideration, are found to be mistaken.” Thornburgh, 476 U. S., at 787

Roe’s failure even to note the overwhelming consensus of state laws in effect in 1868 is striking, and what it said about the common law was simply wrong... This erroneous understanding appears to have played an important part in the Court’s thinking because the opinion cited “the lenity of the common law” as one of the four factors that informed its decision.

The scheme Roe produced looked like legislation, and the Court provided the sort of explanation that might be expected from a legislative body.

entitled to legal protection until it acquires the characteristics that they regard as defining what it means to be a “person.” Among the characteristics that have been offered as essential attributes of “personhood” are sentience, self-awareness, the ability to reason, or some combination thereof. By this logic, it would be an open question whether even born individuals, including young children or those afflicted with certain developmental or medical conditions, merit protection as “persons.” But even if one takes the view that “personhood” begins when a certain attribute or combination of attributes is acquired, it is very hard to see why viability should mark the point where “personhood” begins.

The most obvious problem with any such argument is that viability is heavily dependent on factors that have nothing to do with the characteristics of a fetus.

The viability line, which Casey termed Roe’s central rule, makes no sense, and it is telling that other countries almost uniformly eschew such a line. The Court thus asserted raw judicial power to impose, as a matter of constitutional law, a uniform viability rule that allowed the States less freedom to regulate abortion than the majority of western democracies enjoy.

Archibald Cox, who served as Solicitor General under President Kennedy, commented that Roe “read[s] like a set of hospital rules and regulations” that “[n]either historian, layman, nor lawyer will be persuaded. . . are part of . . . the Constitution.”

Casey’s “undue burden” test has proved to be unworkable. “Plucked from nowhere,” 505 U. S., at 965 (opinion of Rehnquist, C. J.), it “seems calculated to perpetuate give-it-a-try litigation” before judges assigned an unwieldy and inappropriate task.

The Court’s abortion cases have diluted the strict standard for facial constitutional challenges. They have ignored the Court’s third-party standing doctrine. They have disregarded standard res judicata principles. They have flouted the ordinary rules on the severability of unconstitutional provisions, as well as the rule that statutes should be read where possible to avoid unconstitutionality. And they have distorted First Amendment doctrines.

Our decision returns the issue of abortion to those legislative bodies, and it allows women on both sides of the abortion issue to seek to affect the legislative process by influencing public opinion, lobbying legislators, voting, and running for office. Women are not without electoral or political power.

As Chief Justice Rehnquist explained, “The Judicial Branch derives its legitimacy, not from following public opinion, but from deciding by its best lights whether legislative enactments of the popular branches of Government comport with the Constitution. The doctrine of stare decisis is an adjunct of this duty, and should be no more subject to the vagaries of public opinion than is the basic judicial task.”

A precedent of this Court is subject to the usual principles of stare decisis under which adherence to precedent is the norm but not an inexorable command. If the rule were otherwise, erroneous decisions like Plessy and Lochner would still be the law. That is not how stare decisis operates.

This Court cannot bring about the permanent resolution of a rancorous national controversy simply by dictating a settlement and telling the people to move on.

The dissent’s foundational contention is that the Court should never (or perhaps almost never) overrule an egregiously wrong constitutional precedent unless the Court can “point to major legal or factual changes undermining the decision’s original basis.” The unmistakable implication of this argument is that only the passage of time and new developments justified those decisions. Recognition that the cases they overruled were egregiously wrong on the day they were handed down was not enough.

Does the dissent really maintain that overruling Plessy was not justified until the country had experienced more than a half-century of state-sanctioned segregation and generations of Black schoolchildren had suffered all its effects?

Precedents should be respected, but sometimes the Court errs, and occasionally the Court issues an important decision that is egregiously wrong. When that happens, stare decisis is not a straitjacket.

The concurrence concedes that its approach would “not be available” if “the rationale of Roe and Casey were inextricably entangled with and dependent upon the viability standard.” But the concurrence asserts that the viability line is separable from the constitutional right they recognized, and can therefore be “discarded” without disturbing any past precedent. That is simply incorrect.

Roe’s trimester rule was expressly tied to viability, and viability played a critical role in later abortion decisions. For example, in Planned Parenthood of Central Mo. v. Danforth, 428 U.S. 52, the Court reiterated Roe’s rule that a “State may regulate an abortion to protect the life of the fetus and even may prescribe abortion” at “the stage subsequent to viability.”

For all these reasons, stare decisis cannot justify the new “reasonable opportunity” rule propounded by the concurrence. If that rule is to become the law of the land, it must stand on its own, but the concurrence makes no attempt to show that this rule represents a correct interpretation of the Constitution. The concurrence does not claim that the right to a reasonable opportunity to obtain an abortion is “ ‘deeply rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition’” and “ ‘implicit in the concept of ordered liberty.’” Glucksberg, 521 U. S.

The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives. The judgment of the Fifth Circuit is reversed, and the case is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion. It is so ordered.
