They seem slippery and impossible to connect to the crimes that everyone seems to say they're guilty of. I'm not denying that they're guilty of crimes..... but I'm wondering, where did their "power" come from?

Hillary was a "nobody" and what I mean by that is, during the Clinton presidency, from what I remember, nobody really cared about what Hillary was up to or involved with. Yet, now she appears to be a main player in this whole criminal enterprise.
How were these two able to "get into power" with so many skeletons in the closet? Was it because the internet wasn't commonly used by "The People" at the time and people were only relying on the, also then, lying MSM? I believe the MSM has been doing the same thing we suspect them of doing today, the entire time.
My main question is, how were the Clintons able to establish themselves in the positions they are in without anyone noticing and then, after the fact, nobody having the capability to bring them to justice.
