That's not at all a forgone conclusion. The people who are abusing children have been getting away with it for hundreds, if not thousand of years. Those that write the news are the same who write the history books. If they maintain control Jim Caviezel will be recorded as a villian who goes down in history as something like:

We cant be complacent. It would be foolish to assume that history will vindicate us. We have to fight, and win.
