Well it's just the way my house is set up. I'm on a stand alone power system not connected to the grid at all and dryers drag a lot of power . Plus I'm on rainwater tanks so have to watch water usage. The advantages are I don't get any power bills or water bills ,the disadvantages are you have to be careful with what you use depending on how much is going into the grid and tanks. So I've had to adapt to suit the conditions.
Only ever use my front loader on a.quick cycle as I'm running pretty low on water in my water tanks at the moment. Praying for some rain. Do an extra spin cycle to drain out more water then put my clothes on a drying rack in front of the combustion fire or peg out if the weather permits. Have a tumble dryer but only use it on the odd occasion.
I'm praying for them too,it's made landfall early this morning and set a new preliminary Aussie record for highest sustained wind speeds ever recorded. It's a monster of a storm. Hoping nobody is killed or seriously injured.
Bought a new incubator 3 weeks ago after having a couple of failed hatches out of the one a friend loaned me. Think the calibration is way off in it.Anyway very pleased with the new one I got 8 live chicks. 10 hatched but 1 died in shell, failed to zip and 1 couldn't stand had curled toes ,weak chick. They're so cute.
Congratulations to you both.
