I dunno man i never got on board w Bush and the flipping of the flag and the new American imperialism to the point that even the word patriotism is ehh to me. All the flag idolatry stuff, the war parade shit, it's vulgar and insidious to me and incidentally also idolatry.

But definitely exciting. Having rights and duties and honors and rule of law is an awesome vision and now people are waking up to the fact that it's not in fact real yet and that there are individual insane and villainous people thwarting that deliberately.

Sure it was nothing but great for my life and for the Republic and mankind ever after, but in the sense that it emotionally and socially attached me to the apparatus of State, not at all; the opposite even, i was alienated into the hinterlands and thought for sure the electoral road was forever closed. Moreover i thought even at every level there were only enemy agents and the cowed.

I totally abandoned legitimate society in general and understood myself maybe as old school Puritans did maybe, totally apart from the people around me.

Trump tho, for the first few years i even doubted. But incrementally it appears that in fact at all levels there was emergent resistance, a renaissance waiting. And he just coalesced it, all impulses toward the Republic are sucked into the orbit.
