The infuriating thing is that most of the hospitals are "non-profit," but they make millions of dollars and put it into their trust funds. Hospital CEOs make great money. None of the "profit" goes back into healthcare.
Hospitals bought out all the private practices, so the doctors all work for the hospitals now. People think insurance companies have all the power. They don't. It's the hospitals.
Naw. This used to be debated ad nauseum on some boards I was on in the 00s. It would weaken both parties if widely adopted. Republicans have to be careful though because they are repeatedly caught flatfooted with this kind of stuff. Like when the Democrats changed California to allow for ballot harvesting, and the entire Republican Congressional delegation was voted out.
Ranked choice let's you vote for a third party candidate and still express a preference between the Republican and democratic candidate.
The issue is that a well funded backer can increase turnout for their side by running two similar candidates, and then having those candidates tell their supporters to vote for the other candidate as a second choice. How much would this help? Not sure. Look up Condorcet voting for some of the mathematical issues with this type of voting.
Woke colleges and universities need to be cut off from tax dollars. Massive amounts of tax dollars, many in the form of student loans that will never be paid back, are funding these institutions. They use these dollars to fund entire departments full of woke administrators. The university of Ohio, a state university in a red state, spends over ten million dollars a year on "diversity" staff. Cut them all off from the spigot. If taxpayers were funding "based" initiatives, the money would have been shut off years ago. Starve them. Make the liberal activist class get real jobs.
SVB has enough assets to cover their deposits. They just don't have enough liquidity. Depositors will get their money back, but it might not be immediately.
Small accounts (less than $200,000) will have their money in days, because those deposits are insured .
There is no reason for a mass bank run. Why not tell people the truth instead of demanding a ridiculous bailout? Is he trying to kill small banks?
