The Southern secession was truly a historical repeat of the same reasons for the creation of this country through our Revolution against England. The Emancipation Proclamation was a mere re-election bid as well as a means to procure more able bodied men to replace the Union Army of the north. Abraham Lincoln never wanted to make it about slavery. The Union Army needed manpower as much as he needed to be re-elected. Before Boothe assassinated him, his main plan was to relocate the slaves back to their country of origin!
