Agreed! I hate the terms I find myself using these days just to be understood.

Truth: As a 19/20 year old office gopher at Purdue University (1990/1991), I saw a black woman with a glaring flesh tone (white) Band-aid on her leg as I was walking to class one day. When I arrived to the office I worked in b/n classes, I mentioned this detail to the women I worked for/with. I opted to write Johnson & Johnson (pre internet) to suggest offering this very product. They wrote back that they felt their clear bandages covered this "need". I remember commenting to the group that the cotton pad was still white and obvious on those clear Band-Aids...but in the end, we all just laughed at my "I could have been rich" moment. And now, here we are.

I was not a progressive/liberal then, nor am I now; but I saw the opportunity. It was not a preview of a future "woke" me. "Awake"--yes; "woke"--no.

As a Purdue alumni, this is embarrassing. My husband and I have floated the "learn a trade" balloon w/each of our kids (vs college). As homeowners remodeling/renovating a 70+ year old home, we know the value of masonry professionals, trustworthy general contractors, and craftsmen in various areas. They could name their price, work the schedule they want, and avoid much of today's cancel culture/politics.

NW Indiana (Purdue) blue county...RINO mayor is keeping the mandate "at least" through Purdue graduations (5/15-16); however the "twin city" across the river RINO mayor is following RINO Holcomb's advisory status. I plan to shop across the river sans a mask or with it pulled below my nose as I have the past year if individual businesses keep the charade going.
