Funny little pro wrestling storyline coincidence from 21 years ago today

It goes without saying that pro wrestling is a scripted TV show. Nonetheless, the pro wrestling show that played 21 years ago to this very day is remarkably similar to a certain "show" that we've been watching unfold since 11/3/2020, which will reach a pivotal point in the "show" tonight on September 24, 2021.

21 years ago today, WWF Unforgiven, September 24, 2000

  1. The main event saw The Rock getting pinned to "lose" his championship, because his opponent used the ropes for leverage (illegal) AND THE REFEREE DIDN'T SEE IT!

  2. The ref made his ruling, calling for the bell -- it was over. The opponent's music played and he was announced as the new champion.

  3. HOLD ON... out comes the fan-favorite Commissioner Foley with a microphone, who orders the match to be restarted, because the referee didn't see that the opponent was cheating but everyone else (who was paying attention) saw it.

  4. This fraudulent "victory" was completely invalidated by his having cheated -- it doesn't even show up in the official "championship" reigns as having even ever happened!

  5. The Rock gains the pin and RETAINS his title (which he technically hadn't lost!)

Now let's change some of the details around...

  1. The main event saw President Trump getting voted out to "lose" his presidency, because his opponent used all manners of cheating for leverage (illegal) AND THE OFFICIALS DIDN'T SEE IT! (or didn't WANT to see it, but I digress)

  2. The officials made their ruling, calling for the announcement -- it was over. Biden was announced as the new President.

  3. HOLD ON... out comes We The People with a social media megaphone, ordering an audit of the ballots, because the officials didn't see that the opponents were cheating (or again didn't want to) but everyone else (who was paying attention) saw it.

  4. This fraudulent "victory" was completely invalidated by his having cheated -- will it even show up in the official "List of US Presidents?"

  5. President Trump, having already technically won the election, RETAINS his Presidency! (which he technically never lost! Fraud vitiates everything!)

Now I don't expect the entire election to be overturned today, I don't expect Trump to just suddenly become President again.

But if this is the day where it is revealed to the public that yes, indeed, there was a HUGE amount of fraud, then this 21 year delta is a whole lot of fun, and why I shared it!
