Yep. I have been doing the slight edge with the preps for a long time- couple of cans here, flashlights and batteries there. Not the craziest awesome stash but on our way!
It’s really weird- like you can’t find a water bottle for a week before, people line up at 6 in the morning to buy water- HAVE THAT AT YOUR HOUSE ALREADY. One of our beds has nothing but water under it perpetually for this exact thing + Sawyer.... get some cases and just store them at your house! (Cheaper per Oz by the bottle and easy to store than the gallons where I am)

As for your apartment, don’t scramble- take your time, and even if you don’t find one by the time the baby is born the first year they are just that, a baby, they don’t know and don’t care- they just want cuddles and milk. Time and emotional investment top pretty much anything else.
