When Christ sent them out before, He had sovereignly arranged for their needs to be met. Henceforth they were to use normal means to provide for their own support and protection. The money bag, knapsack, and sword were figurative expressions for such means (the sword being emblematic of protection, not aggression). But they mistakenly took His words literally.

Something like, "I've taken this beyond [what] we're supposed to do, see you all."

They knew we'd need exactly what you're talking about. A way to honor the brave men and women, no doubt inspired by God.

Space colonies and travel basically mandate some sort of nuclear power. RTGs (a sort of poor man's reactor that isn't a reactor) were used for several Mars vehicles and are also why the Voyager satellites are still transmitting data more than 40 years later. Solar becomes exponentially less viable as you move away from the sun.

For those unfamiliar, MSRs have inherent safety. There's no risk of meltdown because the fuel is already in a liquid state. In the event of a power failure or some other emergency, the fuel drains into a drain tank designed to remove heat from the fuel to bring it to "room temperature" which puts it in a solid state, unable to leech into ground water. It's a reactor design that if we put a few bucks into would easily solve the stereotypical concerns of the "right" (energy abundance, economy) AND the "left" (carbon emissions, climate change).

You can remember MSR if you remember that the table salt on your dining table is actually frozen (but it's a different type of salt, chemically).

God works in mysterious ways.

While reading your post, I realized something tremendously important to me that I completely missed when I was praying earlier, something I have taken for granted, but also something I was praying about, seeking an answer to. It's hard to quickly explain.

Less than an hour later, here I am, reading your post, and my prayer has been answered in a way I did not expect. Praise the Lord!

I thank the Lord that you've been saved.
