I posted here last November about bloodwork I had done that showed elevated Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, indicating hypothyroidism. Of course the medical professional (RN) I was seeing at the time wanted to put me on Levothyroxine. I resisted, started taking a kelp supplement thanks to the recommendation of the good people on this board, and this year my TSH is well within the normal range. However, unfortunately, now my cholesterol numbers are high, particularly triglycerides, so if anyone has ideas how to get that under control I would appreciate the help. In any case, thanks Great Awakening! Edit to add: The doctor wants me to try diet and exercise for 3 months and then retest cholesterol. So no prescriptions for now. Again, you people are wonderful!

I hope it's okay to post this since it's not Q related but I've seen similar posts so here goes. On my last bloodwork I had a slightly elevated Thyroid Stimulating Hormone level, indicating my thyroid is getting sluggish. I have no symptoms of hypothyroidism otherwise. The NP wrote me a prescription for levothyroxine but after doing my own research I found an NIH article about some studies that showed there is little benefit to starting levothyroxine for subclinical cases. So I didn't fill the prescription. But now I'm second-guessing myself. My question to you all is do you know of any supplements or natural treatments to promote thyroid function? I really don't want to be on another prescription. I appreciate your help.

I know there's a lot going on, but if you have a minute would you please say a prayer for my little kitty Ernie. He stopped eating and is now at the vet for blood tests and x-ray. I'm asking for him to be healed or for God to give me the strength to make the decision if needed to lessen his suffering. Thanks in advance.

Yes after two years we finally got it. I recovered in a few days, he's suffering from a severe cough and a touch of pneumonia, as confirmed by Urgent Care today. It's all fine to scoff at it when you feel untouchable but another thing when you bonafide have it and all the horror stories come to mind. If you could please say a prayer for his recovery I'd be very grateful. We just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. His name is Ed.
