Now draw about a 1,000 mile arc from the strait into Iran. This is the search and destroy area for mobile drone launchers. And new ones can enter that arc. I was the most productive Scud hunter in the Gulf War. This is a tough job. Besides hunting them on the ground, we should (and possibly do) have fighter caps just north of the strait to shoot them down.
The Iranians are running low on drones, but it only takes a couple of tanker hits to bottle things up again. We don’t want the Iranian / democrat propaganda of getting a lucky shot on our Navy ships. That is why we want other countries to pony up ships as the last line of defense against the drones to protect the tankers.
